Editor's Letter November 2009

I am pleased to announce once again that ArtVoices will begin its coverage of Chicago’s contemporary art community in the upcoming issues of ArtVoices. I am focused and committed to participating in, contributing to, and being an integral part of their nurturing, vital, and important scene.

I am also very excited about ArtVoices being selected to participate in Art Basel in Miami in December. My good friend and fellow photographer, Frank Relle, will have a solo booth at Photo Miami as well, so if you’re in town come say hello. This is a further attempt by ArtVoices at widening our demographic to the international contemporary art community and increasing their awareness of all emerging art communities.

I want to say thank you to all the artists worldwide who have supported ArtVoices and our dedication to emerging artists’ communities. To the artists who aren’t afraid to articulate your vision no matter whom they offend: thank you. To the artists who never compromise their work for monetary gain: thank you. You are living legends. Let no one tell you any different.

I also want to thank all the artists I worked with directly and indirectly in New Orleans and beyond over the last 2 years. You are the voices in ArtVoices and I love you. You are one of us and we are not one of them.
